What is a Live Session?

A Live Session is a scheduled video call with your cohort, hosted directly inside the platform. It combines:
  • Video call — real-time audio and video with your cohort group
  • Collaborative Board — a shared whiteboard visible to everyone in the session
Your facilitator opens the session and shares the link. You join directly from within the platform — no external app or download required.

Joining a session

When a Live Session is available for your cohort, a Join Session button appears in your cohort view. Click it to open the session page. You’ll see a waiting screen with the cohort name. Click Enter Session to activate your camera and microphone and join the video call.
Your browser will ask for camera and microphone permissions the first time you join. Allow both for the full experience. If you only want to watch, you can mute yourself after joining.

The collaborative Board

The Board is a shared whiteboard powered by Excalidraw. Every participant in the session sees the same canvas in real time — you can see each other’s cursors as you draw. To open the Board during a session, click the Whiteboard button in the top navigation bar. The view splits: video on the left, whiteboard on the right.

What you can do on the Board

  • Draw, write, add shapes and sticky notes
  • See other participants’ cursors with their name and colour
  • Sketch ideas, map connections, or annotate shared content together

Board persistence

The Board is saved automatically per cohort. Everything drawn in one session is still there the next time the cohort meets. You don’t need to export or save manually.
The Board is available between sessions too — not just during video calls. Your facilitator may use it to leave notes, frameworks, or prompts for you to review asynchronously.

Leaving a session

Click Leave in the video call controls to exit the video. The Board remains accessible after you leave.
