Who is FE?
FE is your AI learning companion. Unlike a chatbot or search tool, FE doesn’t give advice, suggest answers, or tell you what to do. Its job is to ask exactly the right question — one at a time — to help you think more clearly about your professional practice.
FE stands for Future Education. Its avatar appears in all conversations and its responses are designed to be short, focused, and grounding — never more than 3–4 sentences.
Starting a conversation
When you open the AI Assistant for the first time, you’ll see:
- A short welcome message from FE
- 6 suggestion pills — short prompts to help you begin. Examples:
- Reflect on my current pattern
- What am I avoiding?
- My next concrete step
Tap any pill to send it, or type freely in the message box below.
You can refresh the suggestions at any time using the ↻ button at the end of the pill row to get a new set personalised to your context.
How FE responds
FE follows a strict discipline in its responses:
- One question per turn — it never stacks multiple questions
- No direct advice — it reflects your thinking back and asks you to go deeper
- Short and precise — 3–4 sentences maximum
- Contextually aware — it remembers what you’ve shared in previous sessions
Competency focus
Each conversation can be linked to a specific competency you are developing. When a competency focus is active, FE tailors its questions to surface evidence of your development in that area.
Document mode
For structured activities (like writing a change proposal or completing a section of your programme), FE switches to Document Guide Mode. In this mode it interviews you section by section, asking targeted questions to help you articulate what’s needed for each part.
Conversation history
All your past conversations are saved. Use the history panel (menu icon on mobile, left sidebar on desktop) to revisit any previous session. You can also delete conversations you no longer need.
Institutional Guide
Alongside FE, a second AI mode — the Institutional Guide — answers questions about your specific institution. It draws only from documents your institution has uploaded (handbooks, policies, programme guides) and will never use general knowledge. It always cites its source.
To access it, tap the Guide tab in the assistant.
